Destination Swim

Once you reach 20.9 miles, the distance from Bishop Park to the Arkansas State Capitol, you will receive a t-shirt and recognition. Participants must be 18 or older. A log book will be available for tracking distance each time you swim laps. To complete the challenge, swimmers will need to swim 736 total laps, with one lap equal to 50 yards. A big thanks to Bryant Family Pharmacy for sponsoring this program year after year.

Swim Teams

BASS Swim Team

The Mission of the BASS Swim Team is to focus on building the proper stroke technique needed to compete at a high level, while introducing kids to the sport of Competitive Swimming. We strive to make each swimmer into the best they can be, while keeping it enjoyable.

Gold Level is for those that are interested in training for a higher level of competition. This group focuses on more advanced training, but we still include a great deal of emphasis on technique. This level would be the step before joining teams in higher competition venues. Swimmers must be approved by a coach to swim at this level.

Silver Level is for those that would be Level 5 in our Swim School. It is designed for those who have competed in swimming before and that still need help with the strokes and technique. This group focuses on building the proper swimming technique through practice of basic aerobic training, advanced drills and turns.

Bronze Level is for those that would be Level 4 in our Swim School. It is designed for those who have never competed in swimming before, or those that still need help with the strokes and technique. This group focuses on building the proper swimming technique through practice of kicking and basic drills. We want to build a base of good swimming habits before moving on to endurance training. Must know breaststroke kick.

Contact Compassion Moomey at cmoomey@cityofbryant.com for more information or to schedule a tryout.

Bryant Barracuda Swim Team

The Bryant Barracuda Swim Team is a recreational summer swim league offering high-quality coaching and technique instruction for ages 4-18 at all skill levels. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills, introduce the sport of swimming at a novice level, and achieve success at his or her level of ability while having fun.

We provide a strong, competitive program for all swimmers. A positive environment, team spirit, supportive parents, and team pride help create a strong family atmosphere which is building a winning tradition in Saline County.

Beginner - swimmers who know how to swim but not well and may not be strong swimmers or returning swimmers that have not achieved a silver ranking in any stroke. Swimmers should be able to swim 5 body lengths and float on their back (Learn to Swim Level 2 skills).

Intermediate - swimmers that know how to swim all four strokes (free, back, breast and fly) but may need help with technique or returning swimmers that have achieved a silver ranking in at least TWO events, and have mastered all four strokes.

Advanced - swimmers that swim either year round with another team or swim high school or returning swimmers that have achieved a silver ranking or higher in ALL events.
