Overview
Most lost pets are found close to home and reunited quickly when neighbors are engaged early. Use the steps below to take smart, immediate action — and contact Animal Services if you need assistance.
The First 48
Data shows that most animals are picked up within 1/4 mile of their house and are nearly twice as likely to be reunited if NOT taken to the animal shelter. We encourage citizens to hold onto a found pet for the first 48 hours if the pet can remain close to where it was originally found while actively searching for its human family.
Need food and supplies? Ask friends, neighbors, or family members to loan you supplies such as a kennel, bowls, and other basics. We can also help with food or bedding if needed. The shelter is open 5 days a week; reach out, and we can help.
If You Lost a Pet

Check the Shelter
Any animal taken into the shelter as a stray is automatically uploaded to Petco Love Lost and made available for public search. You can also contact Animal Services directly if you think your pet may have been picked up.
If You Found a Pet
Check for a Microchip
Most veterinarian offices have a microchip reader. Thanks to the City's Scan2Save program, all Bryant Fire Stations also have microchip scanners available.
