Bryant Awarded $157,000 Grant to Resurface Mills Park Trail

The City of Bryant has been awarded a $157,000 Recreational Trails Program grant through the Arkansas Department of Transportation to resurface the entire 1.4-mile Mills Park Trail.

The City of Bryant has been awarded a $157,000 Recreational Trails Program grant through the Arkansas Department of Transportation to resurface the entire 1.4-mile Mills Park Trail.

The heavily used trail has experienced pavement deterioration, including tree root damage and uneven surfaces that create safety concerns. Resurfacing will address these conditions and improve the trail for residents and visitors who use it daily.

“I grew up at Mills Park and I still run this trail regularly,” said Mayor Chris Treat. “I’m thrilled that we get to resurface it and continue all the great improvements we’ve made to this wonderful park.”

The project also responds to community feedback gathered during the development of Bryant’s Comprehensive Growth Plan. Residents specifically identified the need to repave and repair Mills Park Trail and repeatedly named Mills Park as a place they value and want to preserve as Bryant grows.

This investment will help maintain one of Bryant’s well-used recreational spaces and support safe, accessible opportunities for the community to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.

The City will share project scheduling information and any temporary trail closures as details become available.
