The City of Bryant will celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated Mills Park Basketball Court on Tuesday, October 20, at 6:00 PM, inviting residents and community members to come out, enjoy the improvements, and celebrate basketball in Bryant.
The court recently underwent a full refresh, featuring new court surfacing, fresh paint, and updated basketball goals. The improvements provide a renewed space for players of all ages to practice, compete, and enjoy time on the court.
The grand opening will feature appearances by the Bryant High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, who will take to the court for practice. Members of the middle school’s Club Unify basketball team will also make an appearance, celebrating the inclusive spirit of the game and the role sports play in bringing people together.
“Mills Park has always held a special place in our community,” said Mayor Chris Treat, “and this basketball court is part of that history. It’s where the first Joe Treat Basketball Camp was held, creating memories and opportunities for young athletes right here in Bryant. Renovating this court is about more than fresh paint and new equipment; it’s about investing in the places where our kids grow, friendships are built, and a love for the game is passed on to the next generation.”
Community members are encouraged to attend, meet local players, and enjoy an evening of basketball. As the sun sets, the City will turn on the court lights to showcase the renovated space and highlight its use into the evening.
A food truck will also be on-site providing free food while supplies last.
The Mills Basketball Court renovation reflects the City’s continued investment in public spaces that encourage recreation, community connection, and an active lifestyle. The City invites everyone to join in on the celebration and help kick off a new chapter for basketball at Mills Park.
